NFPA Compliant Combustible Dust Collection Systems & Accessories
NFPA compliant dust collector accessories could be divided into two main categories. Proactive devices that work to prevent or reduce the likelihood of a deflagration event and reactive devices that in the event of a deflagration are designed to minimize injury to personnel, limit damage to equipment and property, and avoid projectile hazards.
Most of the NFPA prescriptive based designs deal with reactive devices assuming that a deflagration event will eventually happen and what can be done to mitigate the damage of the incident.

Combustible Dust System
1. SPARK TRAP
Extinguishes sparks and burning embers. Reduces the risk of fires and explosions. Heavy duty construction. No moving parts and no maintenance. Can be installed vertically or horizontally.
2. EXPLOSION ISOLATION VALVE (EIV)
The installation of an explosion isolation device on all suction side ducts that transport material with a Kst value above zero is an NFPA requirement. Installing a Explosion Isolation Valve will protect workers and facilities from the damaging effect of a baghouse or collector explosion.
3. FAST ACTING SLIDE GATE
Pneumatic Slide Gates are engineered to control air flow and conserve energy. These gates deliver a positive shut-off to service machinery or to divert air. Remote operation, machine integrated. Safety guards reduce the risk of injury.
4. FIKE FIRE SUPPRESSION
Fike fire protection systems are effective, easy to use, and safe for people, key assets, facilities and the environment. For industrial, commercial or special hazard applications. Total flooding suppression agent.
5. FIRE TRACE
Passive, self-actuating fire suppression system. Indirect and Direct release systems using polymer tubing. Compatible with most fire suppression agents. Suppresses fire at the source in seconds.
6. SMOKE DETECTOR
Detects smoke in the clean air plenum. When smoke is detected it will activate an alarm. Can be integrated into the controls.
7. CHEMICAL EXPLOSION ISOLATION
Rapid discharge of a chemical explosion suppressant to prevent the flame from continuing through to other areas of your system. Inlet and outlet application. Used when venting is not an option. For applications up to 400 Kst.
8. HEAVY DUTY ABORT GATE
Engineered to keep your employees and business safe. They are an important part of any explosion protection system. Fail-safe electro magnets. Robust 3/16 inch plate and 10 gauge welded construction.
9. HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION
Industry leading 7 & 10 gauge construction. All nickel-plated hardware. Military grade door latches. Fully welded seams, no bolt holes. Graphite Industrial Enamel: Corrosive resistant paint inside and out.
10. EXPLOSION VENT
Rupture style membrane vents. Stainless steel panel. All vents are sized based on material being classed at a ST1 with a 200 KST or lower value. Includes Burst Indicator used to activate alarms, bells, remote annunciators or interfaced with process control systems.
11. CAST IRON AIRLOCK
Rugged cast iron housing construction. Engineered to outlast all other airlocks. The unit offers the tightest flexible seal, allowing larger particles to easily pass through the valve while maintaining the air seal. NFPA-69 tested and certified. No special tooling required to replace parts.
12. DELTAMAXX FILTERS
Up to twice the filter life. MERV 15 Filtration efficiency. Reduce the dust collector operator cost. Industry leading surface loading technology. Suppresses a flame front in the event of an explosion.
13. FLAMELESS EXPLOSION VENTING
Extinguishes the flame from an explosion, not allowing it to exit the device. Best use with limitations on ducting or location. Economical Installation compared to other expensive explosion protection systems. ATEX certified / NFPA 68 and 61 compliant.
