Glacier Technology’s 18th Annual Golf Outing took place Thursday, August 14, and a miracle happened.
The Official Event Recap
The world-famous Shamrock Golf Course once again did a stellar job hosting our event, which includes a tent for the presenter! The beer and white claws were flowing, and Glacier Technology’s new management and vendors pulled a complete surprise and made it an open bar/beer cart. – very gracious of them!
The Winning Team
They say a picture tells a thousand words, and this picture most definitely captures the moment.
That’s right, after 18 years, Ice Clausen finally won the green jacket! His team consisting of heavy lifters; Benton Olson, Skylar Rekstad, and Dan Anderson helped capture the sought after plaque.
Second Place Honors
Finishing at -4 the closest competitor was led by Patrick Mulligan (wearing black, on the far right) and Bob Hannah, Dale Mullens, and Jonathan Rams.
Mulligan’s hand-picked ringer team was down by 1 stroke going into the final hole. Man-in-black, Patrick Mulligan, shouted across the green, “we are going to birdie this hole and cause a putt-off.” Unfortunately for Ice his fear of a putt-off came true as they did indeed birdie the 18th and force a putt-off.
Chris Hanson, former Glacier 4-time champ and chief rules enforcer, had a 4-man putt-off. The tension could be cut with a knife between these two rival teams, and it was apparent that there was plenty of bad blood between the two captains. As every good movie ends…..the good guys (Ice Clausen’s team) won the putt-off and collected the cash.
The food was amazing and prepared by Chef Lee Kalivoda.
As for future tournaments – the new owner of Glacier Technology, Brian Gordon, wore a hat during his unsuccessful bid to win, which read, “Last Dance”. Future tournaments have yet to be determined, but at least Ice got to wear the jacket before he sails into the sunset.
Scott Clausen will always be the Glacier Team’s Golf Outing Star and Master of a Good Time.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the festivities!
