Glacier Technology’s 12th Annual Golf outing was held this week with a few new twists. It was once again a huge success, and a good time was had by all. Our very own Glacier weather guru, also known as Scott’s mom, worked her magic on the weather to assure another great day. While the humidity was high, and the temperature was hot, the golfers managed to bring their own heat.
This year’s event had a few new faces as well as a new golf course to call home – Shamrock Golf Course. Unfortunately the Irish name did not impart any luck on Iceman Scott Clausen, whose team finished at even par for the grueling nine holes.
The winning team was decided by a playoff putt off between Team Potas and Team Mulligan. The team led by Todd Potas included Brian Gordon, Kalen Schwartz and Jon Rans. The team led by reigning champion, Patrick Mulligan, included Thad Engelbretson, Chris Kenney and Julie Quilty. Both teams finished at four under par.
Five time champion Chris Hanson, ran the putt off between Team Potas and Team Mulligan. With the pressure building – and the prestigious award and cash at stake – Kalen Schwartz hit the pin from 30 feet to win the event for Team Potas.
For an additional new twist this year, Glacier brought in the award-winning Smokin’ Bonez barbecue truck to feed the athletes. Not only did this option provide maximum taste bud enjoyment, it also allowed for safe social distancing.
With another successful year in the record books, we are all grateful for the friendships and comradery between the teams. Until next year!
